Our declining numbers are also resulting in the decline of our stories, cuisine, language!  Armin decided, some years ago, to pen a novel to document these, weaving these into the fictional narrative, lest our stories be lost to the mists of time!
And she’s done it!

THE MOMENT OF THE BANYAN is the story of a multi-generational Parsee Family, set from 1895 over the next hundred years, containing, apart from the stories and lives of the extended Family, their loves, hates, trials, triumphs – a very human story that will resonate with all, not just Parsees – also the many unique stories of Parsee / Irani Zoroastrians, their way of life in the agrarian villages and coastal towns of Gujarat, Navsari, Udvada, etc., the then Bombay, the diaspora abroad, the rituals and rites, the reet rivaaj, the cuisine and colourful language of the Parsee / Irani Zoroastrians.  The novel also offers insights into the Zoroastrian religion and culture.

Written by an author acclaimed for her use of language and `Arminesque humour’ as one critic has put it, TMOTB promises to be a fun read, apart from containing considerable research and interesting tidbits.

Available on AMAZON: India, US, UK (also serves Europe), Canada, online and physically at M & J Services, Kitabkhana, and other bookstores. KINDLE edition also available shortly.”
